Catizen Airdrop Sparks Controversy: Players Express Outrage Over Token Distribution

-

The recent Catizen airdrop has stirred up a storm of frustration among its player community, with many taking to social media platforms to express dissatisfaction with the distribution of $CATI tokens. While expectations for rewards were high, many participants have reported receiving far fewer tokens than anticipated, leading to a surge of complaints and the trending hashtags #Catizen and #CatiScam on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Player Reactions Highlight Unfair Distribution

One of the loudest voices comes from the Twitter handle “Crypto Secret Airdrops,” who shared their disappointment after receiving only 10 $CATI tokens despite reaching a cat level of 257. Their frustration was clear in a post that read:

“@catizenai airdrop is scam, my level is 257 and I received only 10 tokens..?? And they also blocked me. I spent a lot of money, time, and data on this.”

Another notable reaction came from “Crypto with Khan (SFZ),” a blue tick verified account, who ranked 6054 out of 36 million players but was awarded only 39 $CATI. They questioned the fairness of the airdrop with a sharp comment:

“How can someone call this Fair Distribution? We need transparency about the token allocation #catizen.”

Crypto with Khan asks for the transparency about the token allocation.

The community’s frustrations don’t stop there. “Crypto Bharat” highlighted a shift in the promised versus actual token supply, which only added fuel to the fire. Initially, Catizen claimed that 43% of the total supply would be distributed, but players allege the actual distribution has fallen far short at just 15%. Bharat’s post called for action and community involvement.

Other players have joined in sharing their experiences. Hakim, known by his handle “@majo_row,” expressed frustration after receiving only 24 tokens at a cat level of 209, while his lower-leveled second account got 27 tokens. His post reflected the anger felt by many:

As the backlash continues to mount, Catizen’s team has addressed the issue, stating that the remaining supply will be distributed in future airdrop seasons. However, this reassurance has done little to calm the uproar, as players continue to call for more transparency and fairness in the airdrop process.

The community will undoubtedly be keeping a close watch on how Catizen handles this situation going forward, and whether the promises of additional token distributions will come to fruition. For now, the sentiment remains one of disappointment and mistrust as players await further updates.
